What is Psychotherapy?
Problems helped by psychotherapy include difficulties in coping with daily life; the impact of trauma, medical illness or loss, like the death of a loved one; and specific mental disorders, like depression or anxiety. There are several different types of psychotherapy and some types may work better with certain problems or issues. Psychotherapy may be used in combination with medication or other therapies.

How do our therapy sessions work?
Psychotherapy can be conducted in a variety of settings, including individual, family, couple, or group therapy, and can be beneficial to both children and adults. Typically, sessions are held once a week and last between 30 to 50 minutes. Active engagement by both the patient and therapist is essential to the success of psychotherapy, and building trust and a strong therapeutic relationship is fundamental to effective treatment.
The duration of psychotherapy can vary from short-term (a few sessions) to long-term (months or years), depending on the complexity and longevity of the issues being addressed. The objectives of treatment and the frequency and duration of sessions are collaboratively established by the patient and therapist.
